Structure

The league has 16 teams in 4 divisions. Each team can carry a max of 30 players on their roster. Players not rated by APBA are not eligible for roster positions.

Regular Season Rules

  1. Every GM must have APBA Hockey 3.0 and ABPA Commissioner assistant.
  2. Each team will be allowed to carry 30 players - any combo of skaters and goalies is ok.
  3. Trades are allowed at any time until after week 16 is finished. (75% of the schedule)
  4. All trades must be submitted by both owners to the commissioner. The trades are not valid until both emails have been received. If an injury occurs to a traded player during the week he was traded, the gm getting the injured player has the right to decline the trade, but must decline before the league files are send out.
  5. Drafts will be done by each gm submitting a ranked list of desired players to commish who will perform the draft, or by league chat page, IRC or other internet meeting means if convenient.
  6. There will be a free agent draft at the beginning of the season and the 50% point of the season. A Rookie draft will take place when APBA issues the new players after this season, where all players in the unclaimed pool will be available. Draft order will be set by reverse order of current standings on the league.
  7. When possible (and desired), teams will play head to head, otherwise, home time will play game with visitor coaching profile.
  8. Game results will be saved in gamefile.dat and emailed to commish for integration into league.
  9. League stats will be posted to the web page weekly, and each owner will have access to complete league files in \league\ directory on their computer.
  10. Home teams will be responsible for a 2 home games each week.
  11. Games will be played with injury option on. Injuries will be recorded the Wednesday after the games, and the player will be removed from the roster for X weeks. (X = (# of days injured / 7))
  12. Goaltenders will be limited to actual games played. The goaltenders actual NHL gp will be available to each owner in the league files. Punishment for playing your goaltender more than actual GP will be 2 week suspension of your top scorer at the conclusion of the season (for the full first round)
  13. Teams failing to meet their schedule will be played by league commish in zip mode with default lineup and strategy.

Playoff Rules

  1. Top teams in each division will be seeded 1-2 in each conference. Next 2 best teams will be seeded 3-4.
  2. #1 seed will play #4 seed, 2 vs. 3. Winners face off, and the Winners of that play for the Mug.
  3. League stats will be reset to 0 to calculate playoff stats.
  4. Team with the best record has home team advantage in each round.
  5. Rounds will be HHAAH, HHAAHAH, HHAAHAH (that is not the cheers of the wings fans cheering Stevie Y scoring - it is the Home Away sched)
  6. Games 5,6,7 will be played head to head if possible using netmeeting.
  7. Injuries will be for X games, where X = (days injured/7). In the event of a 40 day injury, the injury will be reduced to 25 days or 4 games. Any carryovers from the regular season will be calculated by the following formula.... X weeks injured left = X games injured.
  8. Gamefile.dat will be sent to the commish after each game, so the opposing coach has the opportunity to adjust to injuries, problems on a game per game basis. (unless commitments prevents this, then we will manage around schedules) I would like to have injuries and coaching adjustments take place as close to game per game as possible.
